Comment from the depositorNP-2 is derived from a human glioma cell line. NP-2/CD4/EcoVR/FPRL1 (NP-2/CD4/FPRL1) cells are transduced with human CD4, ecotropic mouse retrovirus receptor and human FPRL1 genes and expressing cells were cloned. Although NP-2/CD4/EcoVR cell is resistant to HIVs, NP-2/CD4/EcoVR/FPRL1 cells become highly susceptible to HIVs that use FPRL1 as a coreceptor.
